Omaha North defensive back Donovan Jones went from being relatively unknown to receiving a scholarship offer from Nebraska after a standout performance at a summer camp and subsequent evaluation process. Despite initially flying under the radar with FBS programs, his impressive testing numbers and skills at the Lindenwood University mega camp caught the attention of several FBS programs, including Nebraska and Arkansas. After a successful camp with South Dakota State, he received his first prominent offer from them. Nebraska initially monitored his progress but eventually offered him a scholarship after an outstanding performance at their camp. Ultimately, Jones committed to Nebraska while also receiving an offer from Iowa State. His versatility and strong performance as a defensive back and track athlete make him an ideal fit for Nebraska, with potential to play boundary corner, safety, or rover.
