Resident celebrates 100th birthday in Scottsdale

Carol Ziffrin recently celebrated her 100th birthday by hosting a “hot dog party” for her friends, complete with an appearance by the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. Since 2010, she has lived at the Vi at Silverstone, a senior living community in north Scottsdale, moving in when she was “only” 87 years old. Ziffrin graduated from Purdue University in 1944, with a major in microbiology and minor in chemistry.  Still mentally sharp, she declared that she now hopes to live to the age of 112.
