ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A staple on Main Street in Brockport: that’s what students at SUNY Brockport say is the perfect way to describe Jimmy Z’s Plates and Shakes.
After a 21-year run, Jimmy Z’s has announced the closure of its restaurant.
On Facebook Sunday morning, Owner Jimmy Zisovski writing, “It has been an absolute privilege to serve you, we can’t thank you enough for embracing us and making Jimmy Z’s a success.”
Jimmy Z’s posted the announcement Sunday on Facebook, informing people that this year’s Leap Day on February 29, will be its last.
A group of first year students at SUNY Brockport heard the news, and called it shocking.
“I was pretty surprised because everyone loves it, so it was kind of shocking,” SUNY Brockport Freshman Hannah Lockwood said.
Hannah and her friends stopped by Jimmy Z’s after hearing the news, stocking up on T-shirts and other memorabilia to get ahead of those who will be coming up for ‘one last Jimmy Z’s plate.’
They added while they’ve only been there a few times, it’s going to be hard to find somewhere as fulfilling and as close as Jimmy Z’s is.
