Dana White Explains Why Henry Cejudo Didn’t Get The Mic After Apparent Retirement At UFC 298: ‘Cejudo Already Retired…’

UFC President Dana White wouldn’t allow Henry Cejudo to have a proper sendoff after an apparent retirement at UFC 298.

Cejudo fell to the surging Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298 on Saturday in Anaheim. He was unable to deal with Dvalishvili’s ferocious pace, wrestling, and striking and fell short in his UFC return.

Cejudo has now lost back-to-back fights since returning from his first retirement last year. He retired following a successful bantamweight title defense against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249.

Cejudo promised to retire with a loss against Dvalishvili at UFC 298. He was shown inside the Octagon taking off the gloves and seemed focused on announcing his retirement in front of the fans.

But, Cejudo wasn’t given his moment on the microphone after the fight, nor was he present at the post-fight press conference. White has explained why Cejudo wasn’t allowed to speak inside the cage after Dvalishvili’s win.
