Pleasant Hill police arrested a Sacramento resident on Friday night for allegedly having a handgun while attempting to rob Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Police said they pursued the suspect, identified as Lamont Beamon, into the Geraldine neighborhood before taking him into custody in a backyard.
In retracing the foot pursuit, officers located a Glock 19 handgun with a loaded drum magazine. Beamon was arrested and booked into Martinez Detention Facility.
