The closure is scheduled to run until Friday, March 1, and is necessary to facilitate the demolition of the ramp connecting I-81 South to I-481 North, which is being done as part of the viaduct project, the New York State Department of Transportation stated.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour signs.

Construction activities are weather-dependent and can change based on the conditions, according to the DOT.
