Massachusetts woman killed in snowmobile crash in New Hampshire

MILAN, N.H. (WWLP) – A woman from Massachusetts has died after a snowmobile crash in Milan, New Hampshire on Friday.

One person dead after Massachusetts pedestrian crash

According to the New Hampshire Fish & Game , crews were sent to a report of a woman who was suffering from injuries after a snowmobile crash around 4:30 p.m. on Primary Trail 109. Several agencies reported due to the crash location in Milan, the closest access to the crash was from the end of Spruceville Road.

Multiple officers were able to meet with rescue crews to get the woman into a rescue UTV. The woman was identified as 39-year-old Shawnee Hollis of North Brookfield. Hollis was riding with three friends at the time of the crash, and all were operating their sleds. Hollis was the second in the group of four.

An investigation revealed that Hollis failed to navigate a left turn downhill while going east on the trail. Her snowmobile struck a tree thirteen feet off the right side of the trial.

Hollis was taken to Androscoggin Valley Hospital and was then taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where she later died. Authorities said that inexperience was the main cause of the cash.
