Harrisburg, PA – Authorities are currently searching for 44-year-old Brenton King, who was reported missing after his kayak was found abandoned on the Susquehanna River. Harrisburg Police Patrol Units were dispatched to the south side of City Island around 2:00 PM on February 16, 2024, following reports of a missing kayaker.
Upon their arrival, officials confirmed Brenton King as the missing individual. The Harrisburg Bureau of Fire subsequently recovered King’s kayak south of City Island, though King himself was not located in the vicinity. An immediate investigation into the incident was launched, with search and rescue efforts commencing to locate King.
As of 1:30 PM on February 17, 2024, there has been no sign of King. He is described as a Black male with a thin build and approximately 6 feet tall. It is believed he was wearing fluorescent orange and black bibs at the time of his disappearance, making him potentially more visible to search teams.
