Elgin Man Charged By Illinois Attorney General With Gunrunning, Other Firearm-Related Violations

An Elgin man was arrested Monday after being charged with gunrunning and other firearm-related crimes. Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office charged the 24-year-old subject with two counts of Class X felony gunrunning, each punishable by up to 40 years in prison; two counts of Class 1 felony gunrunning, each punishable by up to 15 years in prison; one count of Class 2 felony unlawful use of a weapon, punishable by up to seven years in prison; and two counts of Class 2 felony unlawful possession of a weapon, each punishable by up to 14 years in prison. Sentences are ultimately determined by the court and can run concurrently.
