CUSTOMERS were left baffled when a local TGI Fridays announced it was closing for good.
It was initially believed the store would only be closed for a short renovation.
“We are closed today for maintenance,” read a sign on the restaurant’s door, according to Fox affiliate WDRB .
“We look forward to serving you soon.”
It is currently unclear what was wrong with the restaurant as camera crews from the outlet caught people moving cases of beer into a U-Haul truck.
It was later revealed that the location, in downtown Louisville, Kentucky , would not be reopening.
The store, which was a part of the The Fourth Street Live! entertainment complex, had been open since 2004.
Jenny Clements, Midwest regional director of marketing for Live! Hospitality & Entertainment, confirmed the store’s permanent closure.
“TGI Fridays is closing this location along with dozens of others across the country,” Clements said to the outlet.
