GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Two people have been charged after an NC A&T State University student was killed in a crash involving a stolen vehicle, according to a Greensboro Police Department news release.
The driver, 22-year-old Darion Tyric Valentine, was arrested on June 17 in Myrtle Beach and charged with:
- felony hit-and-run death
- felony possession stolen auto
- careless and reckless driving
- speeding
- no operator license
- running red right
- fictitious registration plates
- misdemeanor possession of marijuana
The passenger, 23-year-old Dasyne’ Akiese Hairston was arrested on June 17 in Myrtle Beach and charged with:
- felony hit-and-run death as a passenger
- felony possession stolen auto
- misdemeanor possession of marijuana
Valentine and Hairston are expected to be extradited back to Greensboro.
