NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Emergency crews in North Myrtle Beach crews responded to at least two fires Thursday afternoon as lightning-packed storms rolled through across the Grand Strand.
North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue responded to an attic fire on 33rd Avenue North and a lightning strike on 7th Avenue South. The 33rd Avenue North fire in the Duffy Street area was brought under control, a city spokesperson said.
Crews also responded to 13th Avenue South, after a tree outside a home was hit by lightning, the spokesperson said. The tree took down a service line and ripped weather head from the home. Santee Cooper is on scene of that home. No injuries were reported.
