This is one of my favorite cakes to make with fresh blueberries each year. It is such an easy cake to make but it looks like it took me hours. You will need the following ingredients:
Recipe:
Cake Batter:
2 cups of self rising flour (1/4 cup kept out to mix with the blueberries)
3/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of milk
4 tablespoons of butter
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon of almond extract
2 cups of blueberries
Crumb Topping:
1/2 cup of sugar
1/3 cup of flour
4 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons of sliced almonds
Glaze:
1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream or milk
1/2 cup of powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Mix the butter and sugar together until fluffy and add the egg and mix again. Add 1 3/4 cup of flour, milk and almond extract.

Mix until it just comes together.

In a another bowl mix the 1/4 cup of flour and the blueberries until they are coated with flour really well. This will keep the blueberries from all sinking to the bottom.
