CHICAGO (WTVO) — Police said two male victims were injured by gunfire with one dying from his wounds.
On Wednesday, around 1 a.m., gunshots were heard in the 6300 block of South Carpenter Street.
The suspect started shooting at the victims from an alley while they were standing in the road, WLS reported.
A 22-year-old victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and was pronounced dead, according to authorities.
The other victim, a 21-year-old man, had a gunshot wound to the arm and was taken to the same hospital in good condition, according to officials.
Neither of the victim’s identities have been released. There is no one in custody and Area One detectives are still investigating.
