Development of the former Winding Oaks Farm property in Ocala has advanced another step. Here’s what we know:
What’s the latest at Winding Oaks Farm in Ocala?
The former Winding Oaks Farm has sold for $31.7 million, according to a deed on file with the court clerk.
The seller is Cradle Holdings Inc., which is connected to the Melnyk family. The buyer is KL Winding Oaks LLC, a newly formed company linked to The Kolter Group, a Palm Beach County-based company that, according to its website, “is a diversified real estate development and investment firm that has invested in projects with expected value in excess of $30 billion.”
In all, the property sold covers 736 acres. The street address is 4090 SW 66th St., Ocala.
What is planned?
City of Ocala officials have previously noted that close to 2,100 single-family homes will be built, along with multi-family residential and commercial buildings. About 300 acres of the farm will remain agricultural.
The Winding Oaks Community Development District was approved by the city earlier this year. A call to Kolter was not immediately returned.
