Mother sues Plano preschool after toddler grabs a hold of a vape pen

PLANO (1080 KRLD)- The mother of a toddler is suing a Plano preschool for a million dollars claiming her girl got ahold of an employee’s vape pen on her first day.

The Denton County woman says the 20-month-old girl came home from her first day at the Bright Horizons preschool with a puffy face and spent the night throwing up. She was told nothing happened. Eight days later, the suit says the preschool admitted the toddler had gotten her hands on a pink vape pen that belonged to an employee. Another employee found the child holding the pen with smoke coming out of her mouth.

Plano police and the Texas Department of Child Protective Services both confirm they investigated the matter. Plano police say their report is inconclusive because they were not notified until more than a week had passed.

The mother is seeking more than a million dollars in damages. Bright Horizons did not respond for a comment.
