U.S. Marshals looking for ‘looming threat’ prisoner with Mass. ties who escaped hospital

Anthony Clark, 41, has ties to people in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and California, authorities say.

The U.S. Marshals Service is seeking help in locating an escaped prisoner considered to be a “looming threat.”

Anthony Clark, 41, was being held at the Belknap County Department of Corrections in Laconia, New Hampshire, pending trial for a variety of domestic violence-related crimes, including strangulation, simple assault, stalking and witness tampering.

The U.S. Marshals Service reported that Clark required medical treatment while in custody and was taken to the hospital Sunday morning, when he escaped. Authorities had placed an ankle monitor on Clark, but they found it outside the hospital grounds later that day.

Belknap County Superior Court issued nationwide arrest warrants for new charges of escape, criminal mischief, and breach of trial.

The U.S. Marshals Service said Clark is actively evading law enforcement. He is known to have associates and relatives in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and California.
