Serving California since ’94, this family-owned restaurant just opened in, yep, Eagle

National restaurant chains materializing in growing western Ada County is a relatively common occurrence.

But small California operations making the jump there? Increasingly par for the course, too.

The latest: Janet’s Cafe. Eagle’s newest dining spot just took over a former Dickey’s BBQ space at 12 N. Fisher Park Way. Janet’s follows the lead of other Golden State-turned-Gem State brands such as Land Ocean and Chicago Fire (both in Meridian) and Spitfire Tacos + Tequila (in Eagle).

Janet’s Cafe has three other locations, all in San Diego County: El Cajon, Santee and Alpine.

On the El Cajon website , the restaurant says it’s “been serving the community since 1994 as a family-owned and -operated business.”

“We thrive on serving fresh eggs and omelets,” the Eagle restaurant explains online. “Homemade muffins and cinnamon rolls and plenty of pancake options to choose from. Our lunch includes large salads and meat filled sandwiches on toasty fresh bread. And of course you cannot leave without trying our homemade fruit and cream pies.”
