Wilmer man accused of striking man with hammer: Mobile Police

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A Wilmer man is in jail after he allegedly struck a man with a hammer, according to a Mobile Police Department spokesperson.

29-year-old Thomas Keith Glatfelter is charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault.

Mobile police officers responded to a reported assault on the 7400 block of Old Government St. on Tuesday, July 30, around 3:44 a.m.

LOCATION:

Officers learned a male victim had been injured when he was struck with a hammer. After further investigations, officers discovered that the victim knew the suspect who unlawfully entered the home and assaulted him.

Mobile police officers located Glatfelter Thursday morning, and he was booked into jail just before noon.

Glatfelter will appear in court on Friday for a bond hearing.
