Thunderstorm Activity Expected in Southern Nevada, California, and Arizona

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas reports that a disturbance moving in from Baja California will bring increased chances of showers and thunderstorms to the region this afternoon and Friday. Daily thunderstorm activity is expected to continue into next week, particularly across the higher terrains of southern Nevada and Mohave County, Arizona.

This evening, thunderstorms have been observed moving from east to west across the Flagstaff area. These storms are part of a large vorticity lobe heading towards Kingman and southern Clark County, expected to bring scattered showers and potential thunderstorms overnight into Friday morning. The affected areas include southern Mohave, Clark, and eastern San Bernardino counties, where moderate moisture and instability are present.

While most storm activity is predicted to occur south of Las Vegas, there is a chance of showers or brief isolated thunderstorms brushing the Las Vegas Valley and Lake Mead early Friday morning as storm cells move west-northwest at 20-25 mph. The forecast has been updated to reflect these trends.
