Hollywood is discontinuing parking fees in two city-operated downtown garages to assist residents in low-lying areas, the city announced on its official website on Friday. The fee waiver begins at 8:00 p.m. tonight, August 2nd, and runs through 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 4th.
The release said residents can park personal vehicles in the downtown garages on a first-come, first-served basis. Proof of Hollywood residency is required. Commercial trucks and fleet vehicles are not permitted.
The two garages offering free parking are:
- – Van Buren Garage at 251 S 20th Ave
- – Radius Garage at 251 N 19th Ave
Vehicles must be parked legally in marked spaces to avoid ticketing or towing. All vehicles should be removed by 8:00 p.m. Sunday to avoid standard parking fees.
The fee suspension does not apply to Hollywood Beach garages or the Garfield Street and Nebraska Street facilities. Regular parking fees remain in effect at these locations.
Hollywood City officials urge residents to monitor trusted sources like the National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center for the latest storm information.
