Suspect in fatal hit-and-run now in custody in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – A suspect wanted for a fatal hit-and-run incident is now in custody, according to authorities.On July 29, 2024, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the 20800 block of Lee Road regarding an auto-pedestrian collision. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the pedestrian had died from injuries sustained in the collision, and the suspect vehicle had fled the scene without stopping to help.Constable investigators with the Accident Investigation Team obtained security video from a nearby business that captured the collision and the suspect vehicle, a blue 2020 Dodge Challenger. Investigators determined that the collision occurred the night before, but the incident was not reported until the next morning when a passing motorist observed the victim in a ditch on Lee Road.Investigators quickly located the vehicle involved and identified the suspect as Kelon Wilson. Wilson is currently wanted for Failure to Stop and Render Aid Involving Death and received no bond out of the 183rd District Court.”If you have information regarding his whereabouts, you are urged to contact our dispatch or your local law enforcement,” stated Constable Mark Herman.
