Police investigating breaking and entering incident at store near VCU in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Police are investigating a breaking and entering incident that took place early Saturday morning at a store located near Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond.

According to an alert from the VCU Police Department , at 4:10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, a breaking and entering incident was reported to have occurred at 3:47 a.m. at the store Earthly Delight, located at 1039 W. Grace St.

According to the VCU alert, the complainant reported that an unidentified person smashed the front window, entered the establishment at 3:47 a.m. and removed merchandise.

The suspect is described to be a male wearing a dark colored hoodie and dark sweatpants. They were last seen running southbound on Ryland Street.

According to the VCU alert, Richmond Police is leading the investigation and officers have increased patrols in the area.
