Rowlett police respond to shooting, one injured, another arrested on outstanding warrants

ROWLETT, Texas – Rowlett police officers responded to a reported shooting on Friday evening, finding a Hispanic male victim with a gunshot wound to his leg.Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 6100 block of San Marino Drive at approximately 7:08 p.m., according to a press release from the Rowlett Police Department. The victim, who was found bleeding on the ground, informed officers that he had been shot by a nearby resident. A Rowlett officer applied a tourniquet to the victim’s upper leg before Rowlett Fire Department medics transported him to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Announcements were made for the occupants of the residence in question to exit. Two individuals, a 47-year-old Black male and a 47-year-old Black female, complied and were detained without incident. The male, a Rowlett resident, was subsequently arrested for outstanding warrants, according to the Rowlett Police Department.The investigation is ongoing.
