We’ll again see a chance for a storm or two to wander south of the Minnesota border into northern and northeast Iowa tonight, and possibly again Monday night. The Day 2 outlook below shows a chance for wind and hail in those parts of the state.
Severe chances through next weekend then become very low, looking at Colorado State University’s severe weather algorithm output below. It’ll be nice to have a much-deserved break from strong storms.
It will be yet another hot day on Monday, with heat indices topping out in the upper 90’s in the early afternoon.
Below, the European computer model shows that most of us will see very little rainfall during this work week.
Lows tonight and highs for the week are found below. A cold front dropping through Monday into Tuesday will knock both temperatures and dewpoints down dramatically. We’ve got a comfortable start to the State Fair ahead!
Our below-average temperature trend looks to continue beyond this week, at least through the middle of the month. There are indications that the last days of the Fair could be hotter.
