Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley is buzzing with activity!
Airbus is on track to complete a major expansion next year that will double its U.S. Manufacturing Facility’s production space.
This project, which began in 2022, promises to add 1,000 jobs to the Mobile area, marking a significant boost to the local economy.
A320 Final Assembly Line and New Paint Shops
Airbus recently celebrated a milestone with a “topping out” ceremony for the new A320 Final Assembly Line (FAL).
This new line is the centerpiece of the expansion and symbolizes the growth and development happening at the Mobile campus.
But that’s not all! Two brand-new paint shops have just been completed, located on the west side of the campus.
These facilities will triple Airbus’ monthly paint production, thanks to the efforts of Birmingham-based HPM, the project’s program manager.
Additionally, construction has wrapped up on new A320 hangar bays and employee parking lots, further enhancing the facility’s capabilities.
