Mayor says it’s time for Wichitans to conserve water

Stage 2 of Wichita’s Drought Relief Plan went into effect today Monday. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News each quadrant of the city is allowed to water on specific days and times. Information is available at savewichitawater.com . The Mayor says the chief water supplier — Cheney Reservoir — is drying up. And until the rains replenish the lake water, Wichitans will have to conserve. There are penalties for violators. The first violation will result in a warning letter, a $50 fine for a second violation, and a $100 fine for each subsequent violation.
