Metro Atlanta animal shelters see record high animal intake numbers

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Record-breaking statistics show a concerning trend in Atlanta animal shelter intakes. LifeLine Animal Project says 1,005 animals came into the Dekalb County Animal Services shelter last month and 451 of them were lost dogs. The organization said 917 animals were taken into LifeLine’s Fulton County operations last month, making it the second highest monthly intake in over 11 years.
