Storms possible today in Upstate NY while Hurricane Debby looms later this week

Syracuse, N.Y. — Upstate New York could see a round of thunderstorms this afternoon with strong winds and heavy rain. “Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon through early evening as a cold front pushes through the region,” the National Weather Service said. “Damaging winds and large hail are the main threats from this system. Heavy downpours from storms may cause localized flash flooding.”
