Highland Heights only site in Ohio with Dusty Goldenrod

Tucked away behind Highland Heights Community Park, 905 Wilson Mills, past the tennis courts, families cooling off in pools and dogs chasing tennis balls, is a golden secret. That secret takes a little bit of effort to find – a small gate marks a gravel path that winds its way into fields dotted with red poles sticking out of the ground, curious plants grow next to them. The plants in their current state aren’t blooming, but are bright green with long, slender leaves. They might not look like much, but the 37-acre preserve is the only location in Ohio where Solidago puberula, or Dusty Goldenrod, are found.
