OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A woman is in disbelief after receiving her water bill showing she owed almost $400 for water and sewer, when she typically pays between $20 and $40.
Violet Oh moved out of the Avia at the Lakes Apartments in OKC in July, hoping to get a fresh start somewhere new.
That hope was nearly washed away when she her final water bill.
“They were claiming that I owe them around $400 for both water and sewer fee, which is around 20 times what I normally paid previously throughout the whole year,” Oh said.
Her last bill shows she used 47,500 gallons of water, equivalent to filling up her bathtub nearly 800 times.
“It seems like they don’t want to be responsible for what they should be responsible for,” Oh said.
She claims that it is impossible for her to us that much water, especially when she is use to paying around $15-$20 every month prior.
She tried talking to management, but said they were giving her the runaround.
