Waccamaw Community Foundation in need of disaster relief funds

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WBTW) — The Waccamaw Community Foundation is in need of disaster relief funding as Tropical Storm Debby rolls through South Carolina this week.

The Waccamaw Community Foundation is the region’s only community foundation and is home to the area’s disaster relief fund, the primary point of financial donations for all disaster relief and recovery efforts in Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties.

The foundation collects and distributes funds through members of the region’s voluntary organizations active in disaster, local organizations, Catholic charities and other locally-based relief organizations in the wake of natural disasters. The fund is designed to support immediate relief efforts as well as long-term recovery efforts.
