Updated closures and cancellations as Debby prepares second landfall

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — With Tropical Storm Debby drifting off the coast but expected to make a second landfall overnight, some offices will remain closed while others have decided to reopen. Here’s the list of what’s open and closed.

COLLEGES AND SCHOOL DISTRICTS

Colleton County School District: Colleton County schools will be closed Thursday and Friday due to flooding, road damage and power loss from Tropical Storm Debby, school officials said. All extracurricular activities are suspended. Residents are encouraged to monitor the district website for updates.

Palmetto Christian Academy: The academy will be closed through Thursday and reopen resuming normal operations Friday.

College of Charleston: The College will resume normal operations Thursday, however employees are allowed to work remotely if possible. School officials said supervisors are encouraged to work with their employees dealing with direct effects of Debby.

Charleston County School District: All school buildings will be open for those who wish to go voluntarily on Thursday. The school district will fully reopen on Friday, according to the district website.
