KDPS: Man charged with murder in deadly stabbing

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say a man has been charged with open murder after a deadly stabbing in Kalamazoo.

Travon Ahmaray-Trenton Blakely, 26, has been arraigned and was denied bond, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

KDPS: Man killed, suspect arrested in stabbing

The stabbing happened Monday on Portage Street near the intersection of Lake Street. When officers arrived, they said they found a man unresponsive and not breathing. The victim, identified as 44-year-old Tuan Hakeem Williams, was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to KDPS.

Police said the suspect was taken into custody shortly afterward.
