Last night, a vegetation fire ignited on the northbound side of California State Route 85, which was reported via a 9-1-1 call. After receiving the emergency call at 7:30 p.m., firefighting units were dispatched a minute later. They arrived at the scene by 7:39 p.m. and found a 50′ x 100′ blaze that was tearing through the Santa Clara Valley Water property toward Stevens Creek and inching dangerously close to the homes on Robin Way. The City of Mountain View reports that no injuries resulted from the incident.
