BACC in need of foster homes prior to dog rescue departure

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Animal Care Center is in desperate need of foster homes for dogs headed to Washington.

BACC is scheduled to transport 34 dogs to the state of Washington Sept. 6, due to overcrowded shelters. Organizers with the shelter provide everything you need to take a pup home.

“It’s a pretty quick process to fill out an application and pick out a dog that’s suited for your family because we do have ten small dogs, ten medium dogs, and ten large dogs,” said BACC Foster Coordinator, Tara Nelson. “Large dogs always help us more of course, because it does empty an entire kennel.”

The shelter at 201 South Mount Vernon Avenue is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
