MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A president of a Mobile-based company was appointed to take part in the Alabama Growth Alliance, an initiative aimed at driving economic growth and innovation.

Angus Cooper, III was one of eight business leaders appointed to the initiative, the office of Gov. Kay Ivey said in a press release. He is the president of the Cooper Group , a maritime firm founded in 1905, according to his LinkedIn.
The release said Cooper “has a deep understanding of international trade and the maritime and logistics sectors.”
