ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who shot another man at an Albuquerque plasma donation clinic last year will spend half a decade behind bars. Richard Baca shot Cristopher Telles inside a bathroom at CSL Plasma on Fourth Street in September. Police said he got upset after Telles asked him about a female friend who was with him.

After the shooting, Baca used a gun to steal a car from a woman and her to get away. When he crashed that car, he kidnapped a witness and forced the driver to take him to Tingley Park. Baca pled guilty to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and armed robbery. Three counts of aggravated assault and a kidnapping charge were dropped.

On Friday, Judge Cindy Leos sentenced him to five years behind bars.
