One hospitalized after second southeast Columbus shooting in as many days

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) – One person was in critical condition Friday morning after being shot on the Southeast Side.

Columbus police told NBC4 they responded to reports of a shooting just before 7:30 a.m. Friday, near the 2500 block of Kimberly Parkway East, in the Eastland neighborhood. Two witnesses called 911 and told police that a neighbor of theirs at The Flats on Kimberly had been shot.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and listed in critical condition. A Friday afternoon update from polices said the victim was expected to recover.

Teenager in critical condition after southwest Columbus shooting

A suspect has been identified – 60-year-old Roberto Stevenson – but he was not at the scene when police arrived, an incident report said.

The shooting occurred just minutes away from a separate shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon, when a 13-year-old boy was shot and killed . He initially was in critical condition throughout Thursday night but died early Friday morning.
