The full U.S. Senate will soon vote on whether to approve the act.

The committee approved $2 million for the Veterans Recovery Center in Mobile, which will be used for equipment to help veterans battling addiction.

“America’s veterans were willing to sacrifice everything in order to protect our nation and our freedoms,” Britt said. “Ensuring these brave men and women receive the care they need is the least America can do in return. When I joined the Appropriations Committee, I promised to return your hard-earned taxpayer dollars to our great state. This funding is returning Alabama dollars home in order to help veterans facing addiction receive the services and support they need to recover and thrive.”
