Houston murder suspect arrested during Luling SWAT roll

A suspect wanted in Texas is in a Louisiana jail after St. Charles Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested him in Luling.

According to a St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, a SWAT unit converged on a home on Lac Verret Drive around noon on Friday  to help the Houston Police Department execute an arrest warrant. That suspect, Tristian Sanders, 26, was wanted in connection with the August 2 shooting death of Vanity Williams, 34, at a Houston apartment complex. Authorities say they arrested the suspect without incident.

Houston police say they tracked Sanders to the New Orleans area and that he lived at a number of locations in the metro since fleeing Texas. Louisiana State Police, the New Orleans Police Department, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office searched multiple locations before St. Charles deputies found Sanders in Luling.

Sanders is awaiting extradition to Texas.
