Isotopes and Dion’s summer reading program sees record-breaking participation

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It was a record-breaking turnout for this year’s summer reading program hosted by Dions and the Albuquerque Isotopes. More than 7,600 students participated in this year’s Club Read with more than 55,000 books being read for the program.

Albuquerque mayor wants to bring back ‘Better Way Forward’ program

The program encourages students to keep reading during the summer and rewards them with free pizza, Isotopes’ tickets, and a grand prize. The grand prizes included a ceremonial first pitch, an autographed baseball, and suite-level tickets as Orbit’s special guest.

The winners of the four grand prizes, drawn at random, are:

  • Christopher Alverez, Kindergartner
  • Delilah Echiverria, 5th grader
  • Ezra Summers, 2nd grader
  • Roxy Racca, 3rd grader
