UPDATE: Local rapper apologizes for walking into Murphy High School without permission

UPDATE (5:55 p.m.): A local rapper caught on video walking into Murphy High School has apologized after an incident that sparked questions and concerns about the school’s security.

News 5 spoke with Anthony Beverly, also known as ‘Li Woadie, following the incident.

Beverly said the whole situation was a misunderstanding. He said he asked someone at the school before filming if he could walk onto the campus.

“I always ask first before I do anything,” Beverly said. “I asked if I could shoot the video. I don’t know if it was a teacher or a student, I don’t know who it was. She said yes… I walked right past them. So, I walked right past them, made my video and I left.”

Beverly said he wanted the community to know he was sorry for everything.

“If y’all feel offended or anything of me, personally, I apologize. You feel me? If y’all feel any type of way about the video.”
