KDPS: Man facing charges after unregistered gun found

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says a man was arrested and is facing charges after he was found concealing an unregistered gun.

Members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, alongside the Kalamazoo Metro SWAT team, on Friday carried out a search warrant on the 2100 block of E Main Street, near Fenimore Avenue, in Kalamazoo Township, according to a release from KDPS.

Investigators say they detained the suspect, a 29-year-old man, and found that he was concealing an unregistered gun. They say the man was not allowed to have a gun, since he had previously been convicted of felonies and was also on parole.

The man, whose name was not released Friday, was arrested and jailed on multiple felony charges, according to KDPS.
