IRS announces tax relief for businesses, individuals impacted by Tropical Storm Debby

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Businesses and individuals affected by Tropical Storm Debby will have certain tax deadlines extended through nearly next year, the IRS said.

The agency said any filing or payment deadlines that fell on or after Aug. 4 will now be due by Feb. 3.

The extension applies to:

  • Anyone granted a valid extension to file 2023 returns by Oct. 15.
  • Businesses with an original or extended due date including, among others, calendar-year partnerships and S corporations whose 2023 extensions run out on Sept. 16 and calendar-year corporations whose 2023 extensions run out on Oct. 15.
