15 carts, worth more than $100K, stolen from Baseline Golf Course

Marion County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the theft of 15 golf carts from a golf course. The value of the stolen vehicles: $103,500.

Sheriff’s Cpl. R. Mead wrote in a report that the golf carts are 2024 Yamahas that are gray with black canopies. The carts were purchased in January. One golf cart was found in a nearby lake, according to the report.

According to the report, Mead was called to Baseline Golf Course, 9000 SE 58th Ave. (Baseline Road) on Aug. 5. Two employees told the deputy that when they arrived at the business, they noticed the motorized vehicles were missing.

The employees said the carts were parked in front of the clubhouse overnight. Steel cables were wrapped through the carts and fastened to two poles to prevent theft, the report states.
