Fowler graduate Amir Anderson wins first professional boxing match

Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse native Amir “Cashman” Anderson won his first professional boxing bout Saturday in Miami, defeating Kijonti Davis in a third-round TKO. Anderson, 20, dominated the middleweight fight (160 pounds). His 6-foot-2 height provided a significant reach advantage over the heavily-muscled Davis, who is 5-10. And his boxing skills, honed over an 88-12 amateur record that included 10 national titles, were too much for Davis, 27, who is now 1-6 in his professional career.
