The Kern County Fire Department fought a two-alarm structure fire in Johannesburg on Saturday night, saving surrounding houses while dodging falling power lines. The initial call, at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, was for an address that returned to the former Randsburg Railway depot house, but the fire was actually next door, at the corner of The Rand and Johannesburg Avenue.
