MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile’s oldest and most well-known library will be closed at the start of the work week. A notice sent by the Mobile County Library says the Ben May Main Library on Government Street downtown will be closed Monday and Tuesday of this week, August 12th and 13th.
They are installing a new HVAC system. Normal hours resume Wednesday, August 14th. The library is more than 120 years old. It’s a hub of activity that hosts everything from book readings to art exhibits and technology classes.
The Ben May Main Library is one of nearly a dozen libraries across Mobile County.
