PHOTOS: Richmond Raceway buzzing with pre-race excitement for NASCAR Cook Out 400

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Start your engines! NASCAR weekend is back at Richmond Raceway.

After a nail-biting victory for Ty Majeski in the Clean Harbors 250 — the final race of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular season — last night, motorsports fans are returning to the track for the main event.

Qualifying for the Cook Out 400 race resulted in a surprising pole position for local driver Denny Hamlin. While he was the fifth fastest during the group stage of qualifying, he clinched a spot on the front row in the final round.

Martin Truex Jr. will join Hamlin at the front of the grid with Josh Berry and Chase Elliott close behind, starting from 3rd and 4th.
